Ambassador for ChildRaise in the U.S.A.
Every so often you hear or read about an organization that is doing such great work that you really feel a need from your heart to support them! When you further look into it, you see the person and the passion behind the organization and then your heart calls to support them even more. Childraise is such an organization and Kavita Shanbhag is such a person.
As they say, 'necessity is the mother of invention'. This is no cliché, but a true statement. When Kavita's son was born and she eventually found out that he had a Learning Difficulty (Dysgraphia-Problems with writing), she looked around for resources to help her, resources that were largely unavailable. Unfettered, she set out on a quest to find the answers. She put her time in to further studies and resolved to make the quest easier for parents after her. Her son has now completed his degree in Statistics with First Class & working in a firm assisting in Stats Analysis. Her dedication and time she put in the process to find out resources have led to ChildRaise. Her research and time has not helped just her son, but many other children.
In a still developing country like India, resources for children with disabilities are limited. A disability is still looked down upon, and parents have little or no means to find the answers. Single-handedly, Kavita has been the ambassador for the disabled and has put in tremendous time and effort to find answers and communicate them to others. She has spread the word that a disability is not an unfortunate situation that can't be helped, but a situation that life gives you and life still goes on. One has to find a way to make these children valuable members of society and give them happy, productive and meaningful lives.
I am happy to say and honored to be an Ambassador for ChildRaise in the U.S.A. As a mother of two grown daughters, I am well aware of how much love and support we strive to give our children and want to see them lead healthy, happy and meaningful lives. As an extension, of this, wouldn't it be great if we could give a little love and support to other children, especially those who are disabled and those whose parents do not have to means to help them - to lead healthy, happy and meaningful lives? Or even just support an organization like ChildRaise and thereby support those who are willing to help these children? In a small way, we can make a difference and with your help and support, it can be done.
I urge you to help ChildRaise in any way you can. Even a small donation is welcome. You can purchase items that have been handmade by these children. Please, please join me and support ChildRaise, help our children and help your community.
Thank you,
